Jessie Schooley, MS LMHC
Despite our efforts to be present in our daily life, memories of past relationships and experiences can keep us from feeling fully capable of doing so. I will work collaboratively with you, valuing your life experiences and input, to achieve a life with an increased sense of satisfaction, fulfillment, and worth. A life where freedom to live in the present is possible.
I approach therapy from a holistic, integrative, and humanistic perspective seeking to honor each individual story for its uniqueness. My practice specializes in counseling for individuals from diverse backgrounds seeking relief from past trauma or other life altering experiences, as well as a range of other emotional and relational concerns.
I provide Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR therapy includes a set of standardized protocols that incorporate elements from many different treatment approaches. It has also been shown to be helpful in treating depression, anxiety and many other emotional concerns.
My experience has included variety of settings including rehabilitation homes, inpatient acute care, outpatient community mental health care, private practice, and nonprofits. I have experience working with a wide range of individuals, many of whom had difficult life experiences starting at a young age.
It is my belief that every story deserves to be heard and every person deserves to find healing, and I believe you are no exception. I hope to join you in your journey to better living.
